Rabbit care essentials
Plenty of hay, space to move, and suitable companionship.
General care guidance. Needs vary by species, age and health. Your veterinarian can tailor a plan for your pet.
Put fiber first
Good-quality hay or grass should form the main part of a rabbit’s diet. Add suitable greens and a measured amount of appropriate pellets.
Keep fresh water available and make diet changes gradually. Ask your vet to tailor the diet to age and health.
Build a good home
Provide space to run, hiding and resting places, and safe items to chew. Discuss compatible rabbit companionship and safe introductions.
Watch eating and droppings every day. Handle gently with the body supported.
