A secure habitat, correct lighting, and an age-appropriate diet.
General care guidance. Needs vary by species, age and health. Your veterinarian can tailor a plan for your pet.
Set up before arrival
Provide a warm basking area, cooler retreat and suitable hides. Keep the enclosure away from windows or other heat sources that make conditions unstable.
Use appropriate reptile UVB equipment. Window glass does not provide the UVB a dragon needs; ask about lamp distance and replacement.
Review food and health
Diet changes with age. Ask your reptile vet about the balance of suitable insects, plant foods and supplements.
Keep other pets separate and clean the habitat routinely. Wash your hands before and after care.
