Frogs & amphibians: start with the species
Stable moisture, clean water, and a habitat suited to your animal.
General care guidance. Needs vary by species, age and health. Your veterinarian can tailor a plan for your pet.
Plan the environment
Aquatic, tree-dwelling and ground-dwelling amphibians need different habitats. Confirm water quality, temperature, moisture and feeding needs before arrival.
Keep conditions stable and check them regularly. Use a written setup and cleaning plan for the species.
Keep care hygienic
Limit unnecessary handling and ask how to handle the species safely when needed.
Wash your hands after care, and keep the animal and its equipment away from food preparation areas.
