Yorkshire Terrier puppies at our stores
Yorkshire Terriers were the breed families took home most often at three of our stores in the past year: West Jordan, Las Vegas and Vineyard. Families often ask how big a Yorkie gets and how much care the long, silky coat needs. The AKC lists the breed at about 7 pounds and 7 to 8 inches tall, with a life span of 11 to 15 years. The coat needs regular brushing, or a short trim to keep it easy. The AKC rates their energy as fairly high, so plan on daily play. Ask us to text you when one arrives.
A few thoughtful details to help you take the next step.
Personality & companionship
The Yorkshire Terrier is often described as affectionate, bright, devoted. Think of these as a starting point for getting to know the breed. A puppy’s experiences, training and individual personality help shape the companion they become.

Yorkshire Terrier adult weight reference: Up to 7 lb. This is a typical breed range or reference, not a measured average. An individual dog’s build and adult weight can differ. Ask us about the specific puppy and their parents before choosing.
Play, learn & bond
The Yorkshire Terrier is described as especially energetic. If you enjoy making time for games and learning together, this is a good conversation to have with our team. Plan age-appropriate play and short training sessions with plenty of rest.
Reward-based training and positive introductions help build a confident start.
Coat care, made simple
The Yorkshire Terrier is in our generally lower-shedding breed group, often called hypoallergenic. A good brushing routine still matters. Ask the team which tools suit the coat and how to keep grooming comfortable. No dog is allergy-free; meeting a puppy can help you discuss your needs.
