A good daily life for your bird
Room to move, chances to forage, and species-appropriate company.
General care guidance. Needs vary by species, age and health. Your veterinarian can tailor a plan for your pet.
Plan space and activity
Choose housing that allows natural movement, with safe perches and space between them. Provide appropriate toys and foraging activities.
Social needs differ by species. Ask before keeping birds together, and introduce companions carefully.
Watch daily habits
Offer a diet suited to the species, not a generic plan for every bird. Refresh water and clean food containers.
Make handling calm and gradual. Watch appetite, droppings and behavior so you can spot a change early.
