Personality & companionship
The Pomeranian is often described as outgoing. Think of these as a starting point for getting to know the breed. A puppy’s experiences, training and individual personality help shape the companion they become.

Pomeranians were the second breed families took home most often at our Vineyard store in the past year, and they ranked in the top five at West Jordan too. Families usually ask how small a Pom stays and how much the fluffy coat sheds. The AKC lists Pomeranians at 3 to 7 pounds and 6 to 7 inches tall, with a life span of 12 to 16 years. A dog that small needs gentle handling, so teach kids to sit on the floor to hold one. Brush the coat a few times a week. Ask us to text you when one arrives.

The Pomeranian is often described as playful or lively. Build time for gentle games and short, rewarding lessons. A puppy’s daily routine should also include quiet rest and a gradual introduction to new experiences.
Reward-based training and positive introductions help build a confident start.
Make grooming a comfortable part of life together. Choose a brush for the Pomeranian’s coat, start with gentle handling and ask about a routine for brushing, bathing and professional grooming where needed.
