A few thoughtful details to help you take the next step.
The Basset Hound is often described as affectionate, friendly, devoted. Think of these as a starting point for getting to know the breed. A puppy’s experiences, training and individual personality help shape the companion they become.
Basset Hound adult weight reference: 40–65 lb. This is a typical breed range or reference, not a measured average. An individual dog’s build and adult weight can differ. Ask us about the specific puppy and their parents before choosing.
Make daily life a chance to connect: gentle games, short lessons and time to settle. Ask the team how a puppy you like plays, learns and rests. Adjust activity as your puppy grows.
Reward-based training and positive introductions help build a confident start.
Make grooming a comfortable part of life together. Choose a brush for the Basset Hound’s coat, start with gentle handling and ask about a routine for brushing, bathing and professional grooming where needed.
Tell us your favorite breed, preferred store and the details that matter to you. We’ll help you take the next step.
